Firm Information

Salley, Hite, Mercer & Resor (SHM&R) was founded in April of 2004 with the goal of providing outstanding legal services in focused fields of practice at competitive rates. All of the Firm’s named partners practiced together for many years at a pre-eminent downtown New Orleans law firm where they honed their skills in a variety of areas of litigation, including insurance coverage and defense, banking, transportation, professional liability, maritime, toxic tort, products liability, environmental, worker’s compensation and construction defect, as well as the general practice associated with all of those forms of litigation.

SHM&R attorneys are, first and foremost, Trial Attorneys. Every case is handled with one goal in mind: successful resolution on the merits. Each and every case is prepared as if it will proceed to trial. The attorneys of SHM&R have been successful in over 90% of the matters that have proceeded to trial. Cognizant of litigation risks and costs, SHM&R routinely explore alternative dispute resolution, assess business considerations and other risks to the client, and ultimately resolve the vast majority of cases amicably prior to trial. The attorneys’ trial experience as lead counsel in both jury and bench trials is one key to the success of their individual practices.
