Jeana McCormick is the Leader of the firm’s Trial Services Group. She has extensive experience in civil litigation, representing clients in employment, education, civil rights, and complex commercial disputes. Jeana has represented a wide range of clients including local and national businesses, schools, municipalities, and individuals. She approaches litigation thoughtfully and strategically, working closely with her clients from the inception of a dispute through a resolution to obtain the best possible outcome.
Jeana advocates for and represents clients before state and federal courts in Maine and Massachusetts, as well as administrative agencies such as the Maine Human Rights Commission. In addition to her trial court experience, she is an experienced appellate lawyer and appears regularly before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Jeana’s successes are noteworthy: she obtained a favorable jury verdict in the defense of a public official in a federal civil rights case; successfully defended a hospital against employment discrimination claims in an appeal before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court, and led the successful defense of a school district against employment discrimination claims in an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
Outside of the courtroom, Jeana is frequently invited to present at conferences and trainings on emerging topics in employment and education law as well as civil liability. Whether at a conference or as part of day-to-day phone calls and emails, she pays close attention to the needs of her clients and builds long lasting relationships by listening and providing insightful and pragmatic advice. Committed to serving her community, Jeana also serves on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.
In recognition of her expertise and professionalism, Jeana has been selected as a “Rising Star” in Civil Litigation by New England Super Lawyers, and as a “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers in Labor and Employment Litigation.
