Alison C. Fleming is a partner in the Allentown office of Fowler Hirtzel McNulty & Spaulding. She concentrates her practice on the defense of premises liability, construction injury, and construction defect cases. Prior to joining FHMS, Ms. Fleming handled similar cases at another regional defense firm, acquiring significant experience in managing civil litigation cases from inception through trial. At FHMS, she regularly participates in highly complex post-accident investigations involving catastrophic construction and vehicle accidents, focusing on accident reconstruction and evidence preservation. Ms. Fleming also carries an OSHA 10 certification in occupational and workplace safety.

Ms. Fleming has tried several arbitration matters, participated in mediations, and has obtained successful resolutions via summary judgement and other motions. She places high value on managing each client’s privacy, public interest, and policy concerns throughout litigation and resolution.

Prior to entering civil practice, Ms. Fleming served as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia. While there, she was a member of the trial division and handled hundreds of bench trials and several trials by jury. She primarily dealt with sexual assault and domestic violence cases but also handled complicated forgery and other thefts, as well as violent offenses involving gang activity in some of Philadelphia’s most dangerous neighborhoods.

Utilizing her background as a sex crimes prosecutor, Ms. Fleming is a member of the firm’s Sexual Misconduct Liability (SML) and Title-IX practice groups. SML claims often involve third party criminal acts, children and the elderly, and other complicated areas that require precision and skill to successfully navigate, advise upon, and defend. Ms. Fleming‘s experience and appreciation for the sensitive nature of these matters makes her well-equipped to handle the client and the intense investigations that are necessary for a vigorous defense. She works with the Title-IX group to provide wrap-around crisis management services to clients in the public, private, and college and university setting. The group specializes in VAWA and Clery Act compliance as well as in investigating, adjudicating, and advising under Title IX and student conduct policies.

Ms. Fleming earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a paralegal for a number of years before graduating from the Widener University School of Law. While there, she was Vice President of the Moot Court Honor Society where she participated in interscholastic competitions. She earned several awards through her involvement in various mock trial competitions. Ms. Fleming received the Thomas S. Lodge Memorial Scholarship for commitment to public service and the Pro Bono Service Award upon graduation. Following graduation, Ms. Fleming returned to Widener to coach the nationally competing mock trial and moot court teams.
