Jim Marshall is a Member of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC. Jim currently splits his time between the Charleston and Martinsburg offices. He was born and raised in Charleston, WV. He graduated from West Virginia University 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. From 2002-2003 he earned 60+ hours towards a Masters Degree in Public Administration from West Virginia University’s Department of Public Administration. He then graduated from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2006. While in law school, Jim was a member of the West Virginia Moot Court. He represented WVU at the 2006 Mardi Gras Sports Law Competition, an appellate competition focusing on sports-law related topics.

Jim was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in April 2007, the West Virginia State Bar in May 2008, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of West Virginia in May 2008, the Nothern District of West Virginia in June 2013, the Eastern District of North Carolina in January 2012, and the Western Districts of North Carolina in October 2011. He has also been admitted to practice law before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit where he successfully argued in the case styled Cornett Management Company v. Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, No. 07-2019. He has been associated with Bailey & Wyant, in Charleston since June 2007.

His practice has primarily been focused on the representation of businesses and individuals in the areas of products liability, asbestos litigation, mass torts, toxic torts, professional liability, personal injury, insurance coverage and general insurance defense.
