Ernest P. Chiodo, M.D., J.D., M.P.H., M.S., M.B.A., C.I.H. is a physician, attorney, industrial hygienist, industrial toxicologist and biomedical engineer licensed to practice medicine in New York, Michigan, Florida and Illinois as well as law in Michigan and Illinois. Dr. Chiodo received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Wayne State University School of Medicine, his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Wayne State University Law School, his Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from Harvard University School of Public Health, his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (M.S.) from Wayne State University, his Master of Science in Threat Response Management (biological, chemical, and radiological defense) from the University of Chicago, his Master of Science in Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences with Specialization in Industrial Toxicology from Wayne State University, and his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in economics from the University of Chicago. The biomedical engineering program at Wayne State University is the leading center in the world for vehicular impact biomechanics having been funded by the American automobile industry since the 1930s

Dr. Chiodo is board certified in the medical specialties of Internal Medicine, Occupational Medicine, and Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. Public Health and General Preventive Medicine is the medical specialty focused on epidemiology. He is also certified in the engineering and public health discipline of industrial hygiene by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (C.I.H.) in the comprehensive practice of industrial hygiene. Industrial hygiene is the discipline involved in assessing and controlling occupational and environmental hazards including biomechanical and ergonomic hazards as well as air toxins and molds. He has served as the President of the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society. Dr. Chiodo served for many years as an assistant clinical professor of internal medicine, family medicine, and public health at Wayne State University School of Medicine as well as an adjunct professor of industrial hygiene and toxicology at Wayne State University. He has served as the Medical Director of the City of Detroit and of the Detroit Health Department and was the chief physician responsible for measures designed to protect the public health of over one million persons living or working in the City of Detroit at the time of his service. This was a position of great public responsibility where during the time of his service he had the direct telephone number to the United States White House. As the Medical Director of the City of Detroit, all of the food service inspectors for the eating establishments in the City of Detroit were under his medical direction He has also served as the Medical Director of the pension boards of the City of Lansing, Michigan. In addition, he has served as the medical advisor to the final appeals committee of Jefferson Pilot Financial disability insurance carrier. Dr. Chiodo has been elected to full membership in the Society of Toxicology. Dr. Chiodo has served as the Chairman of the Environmental Litigation and Administrative Practice Committee of the Environmental Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He also has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at John Marshall Law School and Loyola University Law School in Chicago where he taught toxic tort law. Since Dr. Chiodo has a strong interest in building related disease, he has maintained a residential builder license in the State of Michigan since 1990

Dr. Chiodo has a strong interest in biotechnology and serves as a co-chairperson of the University of Chicago Booth Healthcare and Biopharma Roundtable.
