Carolyn comes to YLAW with more than twenty years of experience litigating and trying trucking and transportation, sports and recreation, product liability and other complex civil cases. She is actively engaged in a number of professional activities, with memberships in the American College of Transportation Attorneys (ACTA), Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), National Hispanic Bar Association, and New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association. Carolyn is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, past president of the State Bar of New Mexico’s Lawyers Leadership Institute, and past president of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association. She also serves on the Strategic Planning Committee for Sandia Preparatory School and was a trustee and fellow of her alma mater, Middlebury College.
Carolyn is honored to have earned the preeminent AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, be recognized by Best Lawyers in America, and named a Southwest Super Lawyer. In 2018, her colleagues presented her with the New Mexico Defense Lawyer of the Year Award and in 2020, she was inducted into the American College of Transportation Lawyers.
Born and raised in New York City, Carolyn is a die-hard Yankee fan. She is also fluent in Spanish and prior to entering law school, was a Teach for America Corps Member, teaching bilingual elementary school in Washington, D.C. Carolyn is also a passionate baseball mom, home cook, salsa music enthusiast and self-proclaimed wine connoisseur!
