David E. Maglio, Esq., is the Senior Partner of the Providence, Rhode Island office with over 37 years’ litigation experience.
David has tried over 40 cases to verdict. He is a private mediator and a certified arbitrator by the Rhode Island Superior
Court. He sits on the court-appointed panel of arbitrators for the Rhode Island Superior Court for the court-annexed
arbitration program for civil personal injury and property damage matters. David has been named Top Commercial
Litigation Attorney in Rhode Island by “Best Lawyers”.
David began his career practicing in Boston, Massachusetts with the nationally-known insurance defense law firm of
Morrison, Mahoney. After two years, David was asked to re-locate to Providence, Rhode Island, his home state, to assist
in the opening of the firm’s Rhode Island satellite office. After 10 years, David went on to open and operate his own law
firm for 25 years prior to joining Luks, Santaniello, Petrillo, Cohen and Peterfriend. David’s practice is concentrated on
automobile negligence, first party property, construction defect, premises liability, security negligence, bad faith, SIU and
liquor liability matters. He also handles commercial litigation, general liability, medical malpractice, nursing home
negligence, insurance coverage, EPL and professional liability cases.
Over the last 37 years, David has defended insureds in third party litigation cases in both state and federal court in
Rhode Island and Massachusetts which include construction site accidents, negligent security actions against a hotels
and universities, ERISA and trademark infringement actions against several defendants. For the first 25 years of his
career, David handled many SIU/Fraud investigations and fraud claims for insurers.
