Firm Information

Biodynamic Research Corporation (BRC) specializes in accident reconstruction and biomechanical analysis. Over the years, our experts — many of whom are physicians with engineering degrees — have examined events ranging from slip and falls to low-speed passenger vehicle collisions to high-profile aircraft crashes.

Dr. James V. (Jim) Benedict, a physician with a mechanical engineering PhD, founded BRC in 1986. Our focus then was the retrospective analysis of automotive collisions, to determine how forces affected vehicle occupants, and how and to what extent they caused injuries.

BRC now applies those same precise standards to other kinetic incidents, including slip and fall accidents and injury events involving nearly any kind of vehicle or instrument.

In our 30+ years, BRC has evaluated incidents throughout the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and countries abroad. BRC provides impartial, trustworthy analyses in both non-litigation and litigation matters. Our consultants are regularly deposed and have provided testimony in nearly 2,000 trials. BRC has also conducted extensive research in the fields of accident reconstruction and biomechanics, with regular publication in peer-reviewed journals.

In that time, we’ve also grown to over 70 full-time and part-time personnel — including our medical and graduate engineering experts, as well as nurse analysts, paralegals, visual communications professionals, a research librarian, and administrative support professionals. Our support staff work behind the scenes, organizing medical records and file materials, collecting and examining physical evidence and data, conducting empirical tests, running digital simulations, creating illustrations and physical models, and more.

The result: trustworthy, fact-based analysis.
