Dan Settana practices in the areas of trucking and transportation defense, general insurance defense, employment defense, professional liability defense, products liability defense, medical malpractice defense, governmental defense and civil rights litigation. Prior to being a Partner in the firm, Dan was a Law Clerk for The Honorable Paul E Short Jr., South Carolina Circuit Court Judge. Dan is one of a handful of attorneys who has argued before an En Banc panel in the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals when he prevailed before 14 appellate judges (Blakely v. Wards, 738 F.3d 607). Dan, a graduate of The Citadel and the University of South Carolina School of Law, resides in Columbia.

Dan is a Committee Member on the Trucking Substantive Law Committee of the SC Defense Trial Attorneys Association, Federal Bar Association, as well as the Insurance Coverage Committee of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He is also a member of various professional organizations, including Trucking Industry Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers Association, South Carolina Trucking Association, Defense Research Institute- Trucking Committee, and was also chosen as a part of SuperLawyers, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Midlands Legal Elite, 2011, 2012, 2014 & 2016 and 2017 and Best Lawyers in America, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
