New Hoursfor the 9th Riverside Antiques Show

Linda Turner, owner of the Riverside Antiques Show held during "Antiques Week in New Hampshire", has changed the hours of the show this year. Last year’s first day show hours will be extended to 9pm, with an opening at 5pm. Opening a day earlier last year was considered successful in helping to stagger the hours of the busy show week. The Opening Day is Tuesday, August 6th, 5pm to 9pm. Show hours on Wednesday, August 7th are 1-7pm and Thursday, August 8th are noon to 4pm.
Before the show last year, Linda Turner stated, "The Riverside Show dealers are committed to bring enough interesting top quality merchandise to sustain a three day show, so Riverside will never look "picked over." You can buy well here."
Customers at the show were not disappointed last year when they found that the sold items from Tuesday evening were replaced with fresh merchandise the next day. Sold signs said, "Watch this space. More wonderful merchandise will take this spot."
A dealer-supplied display of items relating to "Down by the Riverside" will be exhibited at the show this year. The items will all be for sale, and will include oars, boat models, signs and fishing related items. Also included in the exhibit will be prints, paintings, and textiles related to the "Down by the Riverside" theme.
New to the show this year are Rutabaga Pie, Chesterfield, MO; Claude and Sharon Baker, Hamilton, OH; Jeff R. Bridgman Antiques, Dillsburg, PA; Cothren House Antiques, Lanark, IL; Ray Cushing Antiques, Rockport, ME; The Fassnachts, Canadaigua, NY; Erik Gronning, Shaftsbury, VT; Thos. Moser Antiques, Naples, FL; Bette and Melvyn Wolf, Inc., Flint, MI; Jill Wojtaszek of Port Jervis, NJ; and Lillie Antiques, Wiscasset, ME.
The Riverside Antiques Show is held at the State Armory, 1059 Canal Street in Manchester, NH. Free parking is available at the lot next to the armory. An on-site shipper is available during the show and the popular Anna’s Café (of Bedford, NH) will be serving delectable food throughout the show days. Admission for the show is $10 and after filling out a return card, attendees can return to the show any time during the three days at no extra charge.
For further information about the show, contact promote Linda Turner of Forbes and Turner at 207-767-3967, email her at LindaT@maine.rr.com or visit the company’s website at www.forbesandturner.com

NHADA: The Best of the Best

New England’s Premiere Summer Antique Show will open August 8th and continue the 9th and 10th.   THE 45TH EDITION OF THE ANNUAL NEW HAMPSHIRE DEALERS ASSOCIATION SHOW will be held at the Center of New Hampshire Holiday Inn, 700 Elm street, Manchester, NH.
The March issue of  Country Living Magazine  called the New Hampshire Dealers Show one of the five antique shows "NOT TO BE MISSED." Entitled "Top of the Line," antiques expert Helaine Fendelman says, "A good show is where the good stuff is ? and collectors go where the good stuff is."
What makes this show the successful and exciting show that it has become? What makes Scudder Smith, Editor of the Newtown Bee say: "without question there is a certain magic about this show and it is the cornerstone event during antiques week in Hew Hampshire"? Why do people come to this show from all over the United States and Canada? The answer is summed up by the fact that the 65 professional antique dealers saved their very best merchandise all during the year for this show in  order to preserve the shows reputation for "FRESH TO THE MARKET" quality   antiques.  The exhibitors constantly restock their booths, giving the Show a new look daily, and providing a good reason to revisit the Show on Friday and Saturday.
COUNTRY LIVING, the leading decorating magazine that features the country lifestyle will be celebrating their 10th anniversary as a participant in the Show. The editors of COUNTRY LIVING are proud to be a part of the NEW HAMPSHIRE ANTIQUE SHOW and will be greeting the Show’s visitors and offering their latest books, magazines, and decorating information.
For the convenience and comfort of our shoppers, THE HOLIDAY INN, provides parking and is FULLY AIR CONDITIONED. There will be an on-site SHIPPER available to take care of any purchases that you are not able to carry home. VISA and MASTERCARD will be available. Remember, too, in New Hampshire there is NO SALES TAX
A special feature at this year’s show will be a book signing by Melinda Zongor, a long time show exhibitor and author of a new book, "Coverlets and The Spirit of America: The Shein Collection". A book featuring full page photos front and back of 105 Coverlets from the Joseph D. Shein collection in Philadelphia. The Coverlets dating from 1817 to 1869 express history through imagery. The signing will take place in the Lobby of the Holiday Inn on opening day, Thursday, August 8th, from 8:00 am till 9:30 am in the booth of MAD ANTHONY BOOKS.
Whether you are a serious collector, an antique dealer, or a browser, this is THE ONE ANTIQUE SHOW you shouldn’t miss. Put it on your calendar, today! Plan your vacation around it.
David Hewett of the Maine Antique Digest says, "Nothing can be as COLORFUL, CHARISMATIC, AND WILDLY SUCCESSFUL, as the NEW HAMPSHIRE SHOW in August. And Scudder Smith sums it all up when he says, "THE NEW HAMPSHIRE SHOW still is THE BEST!"
THE NEW HAMPSHIRE ANTIQUES SHOW is sponsored by the NEW HAMPSHIRE ANTIQUES DEALERS ASSOCIATION, a non-profit organization that promotes the antique business in Hew Hampshire year round.  They have over 300 members in New Hampshire and throughout the United States.
THE SHOW HOURS will be: Thursday, August 8, and Friday, August 9: 10:00 am ? 8:00 pm, and Saturday, August 10: 10:00 am ? 4:00 pm. Admission is $10 Thursday, and $8 on Friday and Saturday, which includes re-entry on all days.
